At about 5:10 p.m. on Sunday evening, a mother was walking her baby home in a stroller when she was robbed by two men. She was in Hancock Park in West Downtown Los Angeles, where the two were waiting outside of her home, parked across the street in a silver sedan with tinted windows.
According to KTLA, a mother was robbed just after returning home from a walk with her child. The incident was caught on video surveillance. This occurred on November 28th, while the mother was pushing a stroller and carrying a diaper bag.
Released surveillance video shows the unnamed mother entering a gate code and then entering the front driveway while the gate opens. She’s also seen dancing for the child while she is waiting for the gate.
The video also shows the two men getting out of their silver sedan, already parked across the street before the mother enters the gate code. The two then confront the mother and demand she hand over her property, in which case she gives one of them her diaper bag and bottle cooler as the other watches and walks backward.
After this the woman pulls the infant out of the stroller, pulls out her cell phone to call the police, and walks into her home while looking back at the men. According to a news release, she was scared for their safety.
The New York Post points out that the two men initially walk past the open gate but turn and approach the mother very quickly, while she is pulling the baby stroller up the front steps of the home.
Fox News suspects that this is another in a string of follow-home robberies and that the two men targeted the mother.
NBC Los Angeles reports that no arrests were made by Wednesday morning, although the police and Hancock Park Homeowners Association alerted residents about the robbery. Reportedly, the daytime alert got hundreds of views from residents very quickly.
Both of the suspects are described to be Black men between the ages of 20 and 29, one wearing a light-colored mask, black hoodie, red sweats with white writing, and white shoes. The other was noted to be wearing a black face mask, gray hoodie, black sweats, and black shoes.
