According to KCRA, a man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he crashed his vehicle and killed his passenger in Fair Oaks on Monday, December 11, 2017. The car accident occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Sunrise and Fair Oaks Boulevards when the Toyota Corolla crashed into a concrete wall. The driver and the passenger were both conscious when paramedics arrived and had to be extricated from the vehicle.
The passenger died shortly after he was pulled from the vehicle. He was identified as a 22-year-old from Sacramento. It was discovered that the passenger was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver, identified as a 24-year-old driver, was suspected of DUI and transported to a nearby hospital. The names of the suspected DUI driver and deceased passenger have not been released. The fatal car accident remains under investigation.
