Mother of an 11-year-old child, Jessica Konan, has just filed a lawsuit against the Spreckels Union School District in Northern California. Her child was apparently forced or tricked into outwardly changing gender identity, changing name and pronouns to match those of a boy under the indication of school faculty.
More evidence has been exposed since the school has been using virtual learning and Konan’s kid has spent more time at home. Harmeet K. Dhillon, Konan’s legal representative, notes that “this happened before COVID. So when COVID started and remote learning started, eventually the [child] began to change back.”
Apparently, this is the result of no longer being under the “constant grooming influence of these weird teachers.” Dhillon also reports that these teachers also monitored what children were looking up, and then used information they found to feed the kids into the secret club.
The forced transition was apparently kept a secret from Konan, including the child’s participation in a school club and school taught mutilation to restrict breast growth, done under the “Parental Secret Policy” upheld by the district, as noted by New York Post.
According to Fox News, two teachers and the school principal had all been pressuring Konan’s child into changing gender identities, as well as into concealing her name and pronoun changes from her mother.
The preteen has since been moved into another school district.
The teachers were placed on administrative leave in November 2021, according to Superintendent Eric Tarallo. However, privacy laws apparently keep the district from making further comments. Apparently, student club policies and procedures are presently being redrafted to be presented to the Board of Education.
The complaint claims that the school officials have been negligent and violated a California law that guarantees due process to parents for raising their children.
The teachers in question are Lori Caldeira and Kelly Baraki. At one point, it was revealed that Caldeira said, “When we were doing our virtual learning — we totally stalked what they were doing on Google, when they weren’t doing schoolwork.” Apparently, the teachers wanted to gain potential members for their club called “You be You” or “UBU.”
“One of them was Googling ‘Trans Day of Visibility.’ And we’re like, ‘Check.’ We’re going to invite that kid when we get back on campus,” Caldeira continued.
However, the teacher also defended herself. “Their parents think we start that conversation, but we don’t,” she said. “TikTok starts it, Snapchat starts it, Instagram starts it or their classmates start it, and then we just try to answer the questions as honestly and fairly as we can.”
She also says that the statement about stalking was a joke, taken out of context.
The teachers are noted to have had a meeting with Konan and the child in order to discuss gender identity. The mother tried to be supportive, giving the school permission to use a boy’s name for her child’s attendance, though she admitted it was difficult for her to do so.
Though the mother knew her child was bisexual, she had no idea of the new gender identity. Apparently, even the kid didn’t know the meeting’s subject matter until the new identity had been exposed.
Now that the child has been spending more time at home, there’s been a return to the “old self” and use of the child’s original name. This is according to Mercury News.
Konan’s suit alleges that the two teachers would coach students into expressing LGBT+ identities, and pushing these “identities on students that the students resisted.” The suit also alleges that the students’ participation was hidden, as the teachers consciously chose to not keep track of club attendances.
After the meeting regarding her child’s gender identity, audio leaked from a school conference, revealing the tactics the teachers were using to maintain secrecy about the club they ran.
The California Teachers Association has since criticized the Center for American Liberty, which is backing Konan’s lawsuit. They note the group being “concerned with pushing its own political agenda through litigation.” Apparently, the lawsuit is going to be raising money for the Center for American Liberty’s cause, and they’ve filed many lawsuits against a number of school districts and communities.
