Most Common Electric Scooter Accident Injuries

Common Types of Scooter Accident Injuries and Compensation

Since its conception in 1996, the invention of the electric scooter has worked its way from serving as an infrequent luxury to a daily essential item used for much more than just pleasure, but for commuting and general travel. Major companies, such as Bird, Lime, and Jump, have created scooter ride sharing communities that have introduced electric scooters into mainstream society.

With the convenience of the “drop and go” policy, riders are able to smoothly drop their off-road vehicles almost anywhere, making it easier to get to work and reach appointments. However, the shadow side to this electric phenomenon is that with more scooters on our already congested roads, it is more likely for an accident to occur. If you or a loved one have been injured in a scooter accident, you may have a personal injury case.

Victims of personal injury are welcomed to contact our qualified scooter accident attorneys at West Coast Trial Lawyers. We will help strengthen your claim and negotiate with insurance companies to get you the compensation you deserve.

Electric Scooter Injuries

Dockless electric scooters are responsible for over 38.5 million trips a year according to a study from the National Associate of City Transport officials. The Centers for Disease Control also conducted a study which indicates that 20 riders are injured for every 100,000 e-scooter trips. In these accidents, most sustained head injuries and more unfortunate victims maintained traumatic brain injuries.

The study mentions that most of these accidents could have been avoided. However, the rider was not wearing a helmet. In fact, only one out of 190 injured scooter riders were reported to have been wearing a helmet.

Typical Injuries Received From Scooter Accidents

As more off-road vehicles enter the already saturated California streets, the potential of an accident drastically increases.

They know what they're doing, very well. Not only did I not make a single phone call from the day I hired them, but I also received calls from their case managers and paralegals who want to make sure my treatment was going well. They whole team took care of me. Thank you WCTL for taking full responsibility of my case and getting me an amazing settlement.

I can say with confidence that this team is the best in the business. . . . Dean took the time to really listen and hear me out. He assured me that he was going to move mountains because he believed in me, and he ended up doing just that. I’ve never met a more focused and passionate attorney in my life. If you’re looking for a firm that treats its clients with the utmost respect and care, calling WCTL is a no-brainer. I wouldn't think twice about working with them again in the future.
