According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, a woman was struck and killed by a car while crossing the street on Monday, September 25, 2017.
The accident occurred in West Covina around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Cortez Street and Magnolia Avenue.
Authorities described the victim as an Asian woman in her 50s. The victim has not been identified due to the pending family notification.
According to authorities, the driver was temporarily blinded by the glare of the sun, which caused her to hit the pedestrian.
The victim was transported to Inter-Community Hospital in Covina, where she was pronounced dead shortly after the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
