According to ABC 7, six people were hospitalized after a violent two-car crash that occurred Thursday morning in the city of Vernon. The collision happened around 1 a.m., when one vehicle ran a red light at the intersection of Vernon Avenue and Alameda Street. Five people were in the first vehicle traveling westbound on Vernon, and the second car was headed northbound on Alameda. The jaws of life were used to remove the roof of one car to save the lives of the five occupants stuck inside the car. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
