Pedestrian Killed In Victorville Car Accident By 7th Street and Desert Knoll Drive
VICTORILLE, CALIFORNIA (August 29, 2019) – A pedestrian has tragically died in a car accident that took place near the intersection of 7th Street and Desert Knoll Drive.
Victorville police are saying that the driver that hit the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as being factors in the crash.
Despite lifesaving efforts the pedestrian later died due to his injuries. An investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing at this time.

Drivers are supposed to yield the right of way to pedestrians that are in lawfully marked crosswalks. According to California Vehicle Code 21950, “The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.” If a driver was negligent and hits a pedestrian they may face civil liability for their actions.
