Thomas Llamas Accident: 22-Year-Old From San Jacinto Identified as Thomas Llamas Died In Motorcycle Accident After Being Hit By Car in Perris
PERRIS, CALIFORNIA (December 3, 2018) A 22-year-old man identified as Thomas Llamas was killed in a car accident with a driver making a turn at the intersection of Rider Street and Wilson Avenue.
Perris police officers found Thomas Llamas on the ground with traumatic injuries and transported him to the Moreno Valley Medical Center. Unfortunately, he later died due to his injuries at the hospital.
The driver of the sedan that hit him remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
Liability In Motorcycle Accidents
Drivers have a responsibility to operate their vehicles in a reasonably safe manner and keep and eye out for motorcyclists. A number of accidents happen at night when drivers are making right or left turns and they fail to see an oncoming motorcyclist. When there is an accident with a driver making the left turn the driver that was turning will usually be found at fault.
According to the California Vehicle Code, “The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left or to complete a U-turn upon a highway, or to turn left into public or private property, or an alley, shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching from the opposite direction which are close enough to constitute a hazard at any time during the turning movement, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to the approaching vehicles until the left turn or U-turn can be made with reasonable safety.”
A person that is injured in a motorcycle accident will have the ability to file a claim against the negligent driver. Victims or their family have the ability to file a claim for damages in order to be compensated for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. It’s important to seek the legal guidance of a motorcycle accident attorney. Insurance companies will work hard to bully you into an unfair deal. An attorney will fight hard to make sure that your rights are being protected.
