WILLIAMS, CALIFORNIA (October 9, 2019) – A woman from Rocklin identified as Tamara Gomez was injured in a car accident along State Highway 20 not far from Walnut Drive.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 7:26 p.m. For reasons that remain under investigation a Toyota Camry was traveling westbound of the highway when the driver lost control and traveled into oncoming traffic.
The Toyota Camry then collided with a Ford Expedition driven by Tamara Gomez. Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident in order to help all of the victims.
Tamara Gomez and three of her passengers were taken to the Enloe Medical Center.
Liability In Car Accidents
Head-on collisions are among the most dangerous accidents that a person can be involved in. Head-on collisions account for only 2% of all traffic accidents but nearly 11% of all traffic fatalities. These types of accidents tend to happen when vehicles cross over double yellow lines. According to California Vehicle Code 21460, “If double parallel solid yellow lines are in place, a person driving a vehicle shall not drive to the left of the lines, except as permitted in this section.” There are a number of factors that may contribute to a head-on collision including:
- Driver distraction
- Inclement weather
- Adverse road conditions
Any person that is injured in a car accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. A car accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case free of cost and let you know what your legal options are. There are, however, statute of limitations associated with being able to file a claim so it’s important to act quickly.
