San Bruno authorities are saying that the victim was dragged several hundred feet and sustained critical injuries as a result of the accident. It took place around 6:00 a.m., according to the Daily Journal.

Liability In Pedestrian Accidents
Drivers have a responsibility to yield the right of way to pedestrians that are in plainly marked crosswalks. Unfortunately, a number of accidents happen early in the morning or between 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. when pedestrians are less visible. It’s important that drivers modulate their speeds during these times and slow down. Driving the speed limit in low visibility or low light situations can be reckless.
The family of a victim that died in a pedestrian accident are protected by a number of laws. California’s Code of Civil Procedure 377.60 allows a victims family to seek justice through a wrongful death claim. Depending on the facts of any case there may be more than one entity that can be held accountable. For example, if the driver of a van was working at the time of an accident the company that they were working for could face civil liability. A pedestrian accident attorney can investigate your claim free of charge and let you know what your rights are.
