The Chevy collided with a Ford F-250 pickup truck carrying Pablo Serrano and David Bucio. The force of the impact caused the pickup truck to overturn and come to rest near the center median.
Paramedics were called to the scene in order to help Pablo Serrano, David Bucio and everyone else involved. An investigation into the wrong way collision remains ongoing at this time.
Liability In Wrong Way Collisions
Wrong way collisions account for only around 2% of all car accidents. But they account for nearly 11% of all traffic fatalities. Drivers are supposed to not cross double yellow lines or center medians, but this doesn’t always happen. According to California Vehicle Code 21460, “If double parallel solid yellow lines are in place, a person driving a vehicle shall not drive to the left of the lines, except as permitted in this section.” Victims of head-on collisions are often left with very serious injuries including:
- Head injuries
- Back injuries
- Neck injuries
- Internal injuries
- Post traumatic stress disorder
Victims of head-on collisions may be able to seek damages through a bodily injury claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering. It’s important that evidence is preserved after an accident and that victims receive proper treatment. A car accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are. It doesn’t cost anything to hire an attorney and they can work to make sure that your rights are being protected.
