Liability In Truck Accidents

Truck drivers have a responsibility to operate their vehicles in a reasonably safe manner and take steps to avoid accidents. Drivers are supposed to maintain a safe speed and a safe distance with the vehicle in front of them. Rear-end collisions are typically indicative that a driver was either going too fast or not paying attention to the road ahead of them. If a truck driver is injured on the job they will usually be able to collect benefits from workers compensation.

An injured truck driver may also have the ability to file a third-party negligence claim against any other companies that may have been responsible for what happened. Workers will have the ability to collect damages for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. When a person is involved in a high-speed truck accident they may not realize that they are injured right away. According to Dr. Alex Bigham, even serious injuries may not be present for several days. Truck accident victims are likely to receive headaches, back pain, numbness, changes in personality and PTSD. A truck accident lawyer can evaluate the specific facts of your case and help you recover damages.
