Liability In Head-On Collisions
It is illegal to cross over a double yellow line, with limited exceptions. According to California Vehicle Code 21460, “If double parallel solid yellow lines are in place, a person driving a vehicle shall not drive to the left of the lines, except as permitted in this section.” Any driver that crosses over a double yellow line and causes an accident may face civil or even criminal liability depending on the facts of the case.
Any person that is injured in a car accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. Damages in civil claim may include money for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. A car accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your options are. There are, however, statute of limitations associated with filing a claim, so it’s important to be proactive.
