James Jones El Cajon: James Jones Injured In El Cajon Hit-And-Run Car Accident By Chase Avenue at Lemon Avenue

EL CAJON, CALIFORNIA (October 25, 2019) – A passenger identified as James Jones was injured in a car accident after being picked up by his fiancé Samantha Rezendez by the intersection of Chase Avenue at Lemon Avenue.

El Cajon police are saying that the accident took place around 2:30 a.m. Samantha Rezendez was picking up her fiancé James Jones and the two were heading home. 

A vehicle approached their car at a high rate of speed and hit them from behind. Street racing is a suspected factor in the crash. 

The driver that hit Samantha Rezendez and James Jones fled the scene in another racer’s vehicle and is currently being pursued by police. 

One neighbor said that street racing is common in the area. The accident left James Jones with broken ribs.
