Jacklyn Frost Injured In Turlock Car Accident By The Intersection of Bradbury Road and Walnut Road
TURLOCK, CALIFORNIA (July 31, 2019) – A 58-year-old woman from Hughson was critically injured in a car accident with a pickup truck by the intersection of Bradbury Road and Walnut Road.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday July 30th. Jacklyn Frost was in her pickup when another driver allegedly ran a stop sign.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and took Jacklyn Frost to the Memorial Medical Center with major injuries. The unidentified driver of the Toyota later died due to his injuries.
There is an ongoing investigation into the accident at this time.
Liability In Car Accidents
All drivers have a legal responsibility to operate their vehicles in a reasonably safe manner in order to avoid accidents. According to California Vehicle Code 22350, “The driver of any vehicle approaching a stop sign at the entrance to, or within, an intersection shall stop at a limit line, if marked, otherwise before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection.” If a driver runs through a stop sign they will likely be held at fault in the event of an accident.
Many accident victims may not even be fully aware of all of their injuries until several months or weeks after an accident. For example, a number of people involved in serious car accidents are left with psychological trauma. According to Very Well Mind, “If you’ve been in a car accident, you’re at risk for developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Research shows that about 9 percent of the general population who are in car accidents develop PTSD. That number is significantly higher for people who have been in a car accident and seek mental health treatment, with an average of 60 percent diagnosed with PTSD.”
Any person that is injured in a car accident may be able to seek justice through a bodily injury claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. It’s important to seek medical treatment after an accident. Failing to seek treatment may jeopardize your ability to pursue a claim down the line. A car accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your options are.
