Liability In Napa Car Accidents
Car accidents are one of the leading causes of serious injury and death in the United States. When a driver crosses over a double yellow line they will typically be liable in the event of an accident. According to California Vehicle Code 21460, “If double parallel solid yellow lines are in place, a person driving a vehicle shall not drive to the left of the lines, except as permitted in this section.” There are a number of reasons that head-on collisions tend to take place:
- Driver intoxication
- Driver fatigue
- Inclement weather
- Adverse road conditions
Victims of car accidents are protected by a number of laws. For example, any victim may be able to collect damages through a bodily injury claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. Even if the at-fault driver does not have insurance you may have recourse through Prop 213. A car accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your legal rights are.
