Uber accident in Fairfax District

According to CBS, six people were hurt in an Uber accident after a DUI driver slammed into an Uber with a full car of passengers in the Fairfax District in Los Angeles on Monday, January 1, 2017.

The Uber accident was reported around 3 a.m. at the 7400 block of Melrose Ave.

According to authorities, the Uber accident happened when a DUI driver in a black Mercedes SUV slammed into a Toyota Prius and caused it to crash into a shoe store. The SUV flipped over and landed on its roof, but the driver managed to escape the vehicle and attempted to flee the scene.

Six people were injured in the Uber accident.

Two victims, identified as Ukrainian model Elizabeth Kuzmenko and her friend Natalia Cordano were involved in the Uber accident and are reported to be in critical condition.

Elizabeth Kuzmenko suffered cranial trauma, facial fractures, liver damage, and much more. The conditions of the other victims involved in the Uber accident have not been released.

Thanks to good Samaritans that witnessed the Uber accident, they caught the DUI driver and held him until police arrived to the scene.

According to authorities, the DUI driver hit several parked cars in an earlier crash. The DUI driver was arrested and booked for felony DUI.
