According to KTLA, two people were killed as a result of a collision between a fuel tanker truck and a Range Rover SUV that occurred on August 24, 2018.
The truck v. car accident occurred on the westbound 105 Freeway in Hawthorne at around 5:15 a.m. Captain Brian Jordan of the Los Angeles County Fire Department stated that the truck was carrying two tankers filled with 4,500 gallons of gasoline each. The collision caused the tanker truck to burst into flames and spread a massive fire on the 105 Freeway.
Drivers on the 105 freeway, including many who were traveling to Los Angeles International Airport, were stalled for miles.
Two people, both drivers of the vehicles involved in this truck v. car accident, were confirmed dead at the scene.
At this time, the cause of the crash cannot be determined and is being investigated by California Highway Patrol.
