Liability In Scooter Accidents
Drivers have a responsibility to yield the right of way to pedestrians that are in lawfully marked crosswalks. According to California Vehicle Code 21950, “The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.” Many scooter riders are overlooked because of their small profile.
The family of any victim that died in a scooter accident may have legal recourse through wrongful death claim. Damages in a civil claim can help a family recover for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. A scooter accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your options are.
