Liability In Fedex Truck Accidents
Whenever a worker is injured on the job in California they may have the ability to get benefits through the worker’s compensation system. According to the California Department of Industrial Relations Workers Compensation Guidebook, “If you get hurt on the job, your employer is required by law to pay for workers’ compensation benefits.” It’s important to seek a doctor following an accident and let them know that you were injured on the job.
In addition to worker’s compensation an injured worker may be able to seek aid through a third party liability claim. A third party claim may be possible if an entity separate from a worker is responsible for an accident. For example, if a tire tread separation caused an accident an injured worker may be able to potentially pursue a claim against the manufacturer of the tire.
Damages in a personal injury claim may include money for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. A car accident attorney can examine all of the specifics of your case and let you know what your legal options are. An attorney can let you know if there is potential third party liability for your accident. There are statute of limitations associated with being able to pursue a claim, so it’s important to act quickly.
