Tehachapi Plane Crash: 3 People Believed To Be On Board Twin-engine Beechcraft BE-55 As It Crashed Into A Mountain

TEHACHAPI, CALIFORNIA (February 24, 2019) – A twin-engine Beechcraft BE-55 carrying three people crashed into the side of a mountain near Tehachapi.

One person is believed to have died after rescuers recovered a body. FAA officials are still searching through the crash site. The search began when the son of the pilot said that his father’s flight was overdue.

There is an ongoing investigation into what may have caused the accident. Anyone with information about the plane crash should reach out to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

Liability In Plane Crashes

The vast majority of plane crashes take place in private aviation. Commercial air travel is incredibly safe with very few accidents over the last several decades. Most accidents take place during take-off and landing. Private planes tend to lack a lot of the redundancies that make commercial air travel much safer. They tend to have only one engine or only one pilot. According to the FAA, the majority of crashes occur due to pilot error. Crashes can also take place due to engine failure.

The family of a victim that dies in a plane crash may be able to seek justice through California’s Code of Civil Procedure 377.60. Damages in a wrongful death claim can include money for funeral expenses, lost wages, loss of love and pain and suffering. A wrongful death attorney can investigate your claim free of charge and let you know what your options are.
