George Miller Taft: 55-Year-Old Man Identified As George Miller From Maricopa Was Injured In Head-On Car Accident On Highway 33

TAFT, CALIFORNIA (May 30, 2019) – A 55-year-old man from Maricopa identified as George Miller was injured in a car accident on Highway 33.

California Highway Patrol are saying that a man driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado south of Henry Road turned his vehicle into the path of the Dodge Ram driven by George Miller.

The accident took place around 11:00 a.m. Both George Miller and the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado had to be transported by ambulance to the Kern Medical Center.

Liability In Car Accidents

Head-on collisions make up only 2% of all accidents but over 12% of all fatal traffic accidents. The vast majority of head-on collisions occur due to drivers making illegal or dangerous left turns. According to California Vehicle Code 21801, “The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left or to complete a U-turn upon a highway, or to turn left into public or private property, or an alley, shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching from the opposite direction which are close enough to constitute a hazard at any time during the turning movement.”

Any person that is injured due to the negligence of another driver may be able to recover damages through a bodily injury claim. Damages may include money for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. A car accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are. There are, however, statute of limitations associated with being able to pursue a claim, so it’s important to act quickly.
