According to Mercury News, a suspected DUI driver sustained critical injuries after being involved in a car accident, involving a school bus and a bicyclist in San Jose on Monday, March 12, 2018.
The car accident was reported around 7:11 a.m. near the intersection of Bollinger Road and Lawrence Expressway, when the driver of a red Acura crashed into a school bus. The DUI driver fled the scene of the initial collision, and then struck a bicyclist.
The DUI driver continued fleeing the scene of the bicycle accident and then crashed into a tree.
It was not clear if there were any passengers on the school bus during the time of the bus accident. No one on the bus was reported injured.
The bicyclist sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
The DUI driver sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in critical condition.
