According to KTLA, a car crashed into a guest house in Corona, causing the house to catch fire, where a grandmother and children were sleeping on Monday, December 18, 2017. The car accident occurred around 2 a.m., when the vehicle came speeding down the road and crashed through a wall and into a guest house on the 1000 block of Cleveland Way. Due to the impact, a fire erupted. The 72-year-old woman and two children, ages 7 and 8, were sleeping at the time of the car accident. The grandmother sustained minor burns to her hands and was transported to a nearby hospital. The two children were uninjured.
The driver was transported to a local burn center and the passenger in the vehicle was transported to another hospital for treatment. Alcohol is suspected to have been a factor. The car accident remains under investigation.
