Liability In Head-on Collisions
Every driver has a responsibility to take steps to avoid accidents and obey the speed limits. Head-on collisions are typically caused by drivers that are either distracted, fatigued or under the influence. According to the California Vehicle Code 23152, “(a) It is unlawful for a person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage to drive a vehicle. (b) It is unlawful for a person who has 0.08 percent or more, by weight, of alcohol in his or her blood to drive a vehicle.”
Victims of DUI accidents are able to file a bodily injury claim for damages. This can include financial compensation for medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering. The extent of a person’s injuries are usually not fully know until weeks or even months after an accident. A car accident attorney can investigate your case free of charge and let you know what your rights are.
