Multiple People Injured In Sonoma County Head-On Car Accident On Highway 121 Near De Mattos Road
SONOMA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA (August 16, 2019) – At least two people were injured in a head-on collision that took place on Highway 121 near De Mattos road.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 8:23 p.m. For reasons that remain under investigation a Chevy Captiva drifted over double yellow lines and hit a Jeep.
The driver of the Jeep sustained injuries and had to be treated by paramedics. He then had to be airlifted to the Queen of the Valley Medical Center.

Drivers that cross double yellow lines will typically be found at fault in the event of an accident. According to California Vehicle Code 21460, “If double parallel solid yellow lines are in place, a person driving a vehicle shall not drive to the left of the lines, except as permitted in this section.” Any person that is injured in a head-on collision due to the negligence of another driver may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim.
