Skateboarder struck and killed by DUI driver in Redlands pedestrian accident

According to the San Bernardino Sun, a skateboarder was struck and killed by a suspected DUI driver in Redlands on Saturday, February 17, 2018.

The fatal pedestrian accident involving a DUI driver was reported around 8 p.m., when Dustin Michael Garrett of Riverside, struck and killed a 27-year-old skateboarder, identified as Daniel Nuu Wells. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred near the intersection of Colton Avenue and Herald Street.

According to authorities, Garrett initially fled the scene of the pedestrian accident and hit several other vehicles, injuring the driver of a Prius.

Police found Garrett about a mile away from the fatal pedestrian accident and he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
