Pedestrian Injured In Siskiyou Car Accident By Picard Road and Mathews Road
SISKIYOU, CALIFORNIA (September 10, 2019) – A pedestrian was seriously injured in a car accident near the intersection of Picard Road and Mathews Road.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 7:35 p.m. For reasons that remain under investigation a Ford F-150 hit a pedestrian.
Paramedics were called to the scene in order to help the victim. They were taken to the hospital with major injures.

California law requires drivers to yield the right of way to pedestrians that are in lawfully marked crosswalks. According to California Vehicle Code 21950, “The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.” Even if a pedestrian is outside of a marked crosswalk drivers must still use caution around them.
