Pedestrian In Wheelchair Killed In Santa Ana Hit-And-Run Car Accident By 1st Street and Townsend Street
SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA (July 14, 2019) – A man trying to cross the street in a wheelchair by the intersection of 1st Street and Townsend Street.
Santa Ana police are saying that the accident took place around 10:37 p.m. The pedestrian was hit by a car that was heading eastbound.
The driver did not stop but was eventually captured by police and charged with felony DUI and hit-and-run. Tragically, the man in the wheelchair died due to his injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing at this point.

According to California Vehicle Code 23152, “(a) It is unlawful for a person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage to drive a vehicle.
