One Person Injured In Santa Maria Car Accident On Betteravia Road

SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA (September 30, 2019) – A pedestrian was seriously injured in a car accident by East Betteravia Road.

California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 7:45 p.m. For reasons that remain under investigation the car hit the pedestrian but remained at the scene. 

The pedestrian sustained major injuries as a result of the crash and had to be taken to the hospital. Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.

According to California Vehicle Code 21950, “The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.” The victim of any pedestrian accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim.
