Liability In Head-On Car Accidents
Head-on car accidents are among the most dangerous types of collisions that a person can be involved in. These accidents account for roughly 2% of all collisions but make over over 10% of all traffic fatalities. More often than not, head-on crashes are the result of fatigue, distraction or alcohol. According to the California Vehicle Code 23152, “(a) It is unlawful for a person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage to drive a vehicle. (b) It is unlawful for a person who has 0.08 percent or more, by weight, of alcohol in his or her blood to drive a vehicle.”
What many people do not realize is that driving under the influence can include taking prescription medication or over the counter medications. It’s important to consult with your doctor about how any drug may affect your driving. Victims of car accidents are often left with devastating and costly injuries including:
- Head Injuries
- Back Injuries
- Neck Injuries
Victims of car accidents may be able to receive numerous forms of support following an accident. For example, a person who was injured due to the negligence of another driver may have the ability to recover damages for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. A car accident attorney can evaluate all of the facts of your case and let you know what your options are.
