Larry Doran Santa Clarita: 51-Year-Old Larry Dean Doran From Santa Clarita Tragically Killed In Car Accident While Riding Motorcycle On Soledad Canyon Road

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (May 13, 2019) – A 51-year-old man identified as Larry Dean Doran has tragically died after he was ejected from his motorcycle following a car accident on Soledad Canyon Road.

Los Angeles Police are saying that the accident took place on 11:45 a.m. not far from Agua Dulce Canyon Road. According to police, the driver of a car allegedly pulled into the path of the motorcyclist before the fatal accident.

This caused Larry Dean Doran to be ejected from his motorcycle. The victim was then transported to the Henry Mayo Hospital in critical condition.

Despite life-saving measures Larry Dean Doran was later pronounced dead at the hospital. An investigation into the motorcycle accident remains ongoing at this point.

Liability In Motorcycle Accidents

According to the Insurance Information Institute, “Motorcycles are by their nature far less crashworthy than closed vehicles. They are also less visible to other drivers and pedestrians and less stable than four-wheel vehicles. Operating a motorcycle requires a different combination of physical and mental skills than those used in driving four-wheel vehicles.” Even if a motorcycle rider is perfectly safe, there is always the very real possibility that they will be seriously injured or killed by careless drivers.

A number of crashes take place when one driver makes a dangerous left turns or pulls out of a driveway without looking. According to California Vehicle Code 21801, “The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left or to complete a U-turn upon a highway, or to turn left into public or private property, or an alley, shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching from the opposite direction which are close enough to constitute a hazard at any time during the turning movement, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to the approaching vehicles until the left turn or U-turn can be made with reasonable safety.” Any driver that pulls in front of a motorcyclist will likely face civil liability if there’s an accident.

The family of any person that died in a pedestrian accident may have legal recourse through California Code of Civil Procedure 377.60. Damages in a wrongful death claim can help a victim’s next of kin recover compensation for lost wages, medical bills, loss of love, loss of support and pain and suffering. A wrongful death attorney can examine your case free of cost and let you know what your options are.
