Liability In Wrong Way Crashes
Head-on collisions are among the most lethal type of accident that a person can be involved in. Many of these crashes are caused by intoxicated drivers. According to the California Vehicle Code 23152, “(a) It is unlawful for a person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage to drive a vehicle. (b) It is unlawful for a person who has 0.08 percent or more, by weight, of alcohol in his or her blood to drive a vehicle.”
Fatigue may also play a role in head-on collisions. The family of a victim that dies in a head-on collision may have legal recourse under California Code of Civil Procedure 377.60. Damages in a wrongful death claim may include compensation for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. A wrongful death attorney can investigate your case free of charge and let you know what your rights are.
