Five People Injured In San Francisco Car Accident By Divisadero Street and Hayes Street

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA (October 15, 2019) – At least one person was injured in a car accident by the intersection of Divisadero Street and Hayes Street. 

California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 8:00 p.m. At least three vehicles were involved in the collision. 

Paramedics were called to the scene in order to help all of the victims. The incident began when a drunk driver rear-ended another vehicle and second driver caused a crash by running a red light.

It is a felony to operate a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and cause an accident that results in bodily injury. According to California Vehicle Code 23152, “(a) It is unlawful for a person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage to drive a vehicle. (b) It is unlawful for a person who has 0.08 percent or more, by weight, of alcohol in his or her blood to drive a vehicle.” People that choose to drive drunk are likely to face criminal as well as civil liability.
