Man Injured In San Francisco Bicycle Accident By The Intersection of Market Street and 10th Street
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA (May 6, 2019) – A bicyclist was seriously injured in a car accident not far from the intersection of Market Street and 10th Street.
San Francisco police are saying that the accident took place around 3:55 p.m. For reasons that remain under investigation, there was a collision with an F-line streetcar.
Paramedics were called to the scene in order to help the bicyclist. An investigation remains ongoing at this time.
Liability In Bicycle Accidents
According to the CDC, “In 2015 in the United States, over 1,000 bicyclists died and there were almost 467,000 bicycle-related injuries.” A disproportionate number of accidents take place when drivers are speeding, distracted or under the influence. Bicyclists have a much smaller profile than cars and are therefore more likely to be hit in many circumstances.
Any victim of a bicycle accident may have recourse through a bodily injury claim. If a government employee was negligent leading up to an accident the company that they work for could be held vicariously liable. A bicycle accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your options are.
