One Person Killed In San Diego Car Accident On Highway 94 By 805 Freeway

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (November 4, 2019) – A driver was involved in a car accident before he was hit while trying to exit the freeway. 

California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 10:30 p.m. on November 2. The driver got out of his vehicle after the initial crash before he was subsequently hit by another car. 

The vehicle that hit the pedestrian kept driving and is currently being pursued by police. Despite life-saving efforts the pedestrian died due to their injuries. 

Liability In Car Accidents

It is a felony to flee the scene of a car accident which results in bodily injury. According to California Vehicle Code 20001, “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident and shall fulfill the requirements of Sections 20003 and 20004.” The family of any person that died in a car accident may have legal recourse through California Code of Civil Procedure 377.60.
