Liability In DUI Accidents

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, “Every day, 29 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver. This is one death every 50 minutes. The annual cost of alcohol-related crashes totals more than $44 billion.” It is a felony to cause an accident resulting in bodily injury while under the influence of alcohol. Drivers will likely face civil as well as criminal liability.

Any person that is injured in a pedestrian accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. Damages in a civil claim can help with lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. A car accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are. It doesn’t cost anything to hire an attorney and they only get paid if they are able to successfully resolve your case.
