Metrolink Train Collided With Broken Down Bus By West Toranga Street and North Rancho Avenue

SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA (November 11, 2018) A number of people were injured when a train that was carrying 40 people collided with a bus that had broken down on the train tracks.

A picture of the side of the bus shows it completely caved in from the impact of the crash.  The operator of the bust was able to let the train engineer know of the obstacle on the track.

There are reports that the train operator was injured. A number of people on the train complained of neck pain. There is no word yet on what may have caused the bus to brake down on the tracks.

Liability In Train Accidents Involving Buses

Train operators have a responsibility to take every precaution in order to avoid accidents. They are trained to watch the tracks and apply their brakes in order to avoid accidents. Failure to apply the brakes in time to avoid an accident may impose civil liability on the company responsible for the train. Bus companies may also face liability for an accident with a train. Companies that operate buses have a responsibility to make sure that their buses engines are in good condition. When a bus company fails to keep their vehicles in reasonably good condition they may face civil liability in the event of an accident. Victims may be entitled to financial compensation for their injuries including lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. A bus accident attorney can investigate your claim free of charge and let you know what your rights are.
