 Motorcyclist Injured In Sacramento Hit-And-Run Car Accident On Highway 51 By El Camino Avenue

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (November 3, 2019) – A motorcyclist was injured in a hit-and-run car accident on the 51 Freeway not far from the El Camino offramp. 

California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 9:51 p.m. For reasons that remain under investigation a vehicle hit a motorcycle rider and then took off. 

That driver is currently being sought by police. Paramedics took the injured rider to the hospital so that they could get treatment. 

Liability In Hit-And-Run Accidents

It is a felony to flee the scene of a car accident that results in bodily injury. According to California Vehicle Code 20001, “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident and shall fulfill the requirements of Sections 20003 and 20004.” Victims of hit and run collisions may be able to collect damages through a bodily injury claim.
