Candace Marshall Sacramento: Woman Identified As Candace Marshall died In Plane Crash After Pilot Landed Seaplane Into American River In Sacrametno
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (January 20, 2019) – A woman identified as Candace Marshall who spent the last several weeks in a coma died after her seaplane crashed into the American River.
The pilot of that seaplane that Candace Marshall was a passenger in managed to pull himself to safety following the accident. Authorities are saying that the landing gear may have been down on the seaplane as it was hitting the water.
The pilot of the seaplane was eventually able to free Candace Marshall on his fourth dive after the plane crash. He began performing CPR until first responders arrived.
Tragic news of the victim’s death came after a post on Facebook and her Go Fund Me page.
According to Angelette Harcrow, “I am heartbroken to write this post. Mom was fighting so hard- but her injury was just too much for her to overcome. She began having seizures late last night and seemed to be in pain. She had 9 broken ribs so every twitch was unbearable to watch. The nurses gave her seizure medicine and morphine and mom passed away in peace, at 1:41 this morning. She fought hard for us, but she is now with Jesus and in the arms of her father and her grandmother.”
Liability In Plane Crashes
Every year thousands of people are killed in private aviation. The vast majority of these accidents are due to human error. Take-offs and landings are the most dangerous part of the flight. A pilot might forget to bring up or put down their landing gear. A number of accidents take place when pilots overshoot the runway. Victim’s of plane crashes are protected by a number of laws.
Depending on the facts of any case, there may be multiple sources of negligence. In addition to pilot error a plane may crash due to a mechanical malfunction with the plane itself. The family of a person that dies in a plane crash may seek justice by pursuing a claim under California’s Code of Civil Procedure 377.60. A wrongful death attorney can investigate your claim free of charge and take steps to preserve key pieces of evidence.
