Liability In Cement Truck Accidents
According to the FMCSA, at least 4,000 people are killed every year in truck accidents. Those that manage to survive are often left with serious injuries. A number of accidents are caused by truck drivers that are not paying attention. Every truck driver is supposed to operate their vehicles according to the prevailing conditions of the road. According to the California Vehicle Code 22350, “No person shall drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, the traffic on, and the surface and width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed which endangers the safety of persons or property.”
The family members of a person that died in a truck accident may have legal recourse. Damages in a wrongful death claim can include compensation for lost wages, funeral expenses and loss of love.
