Liability In Ramona Tow Truck Accidents

Tow truck drivers have a responsibility to operate their vehicles in a reasonably safe manner and take steps to avoid causing accidents. This includes making sure that they are not turning into the path of traffic. According to California Vehicle Code 22107, “No person shall turn a vehicle from a direct course or move right or left upon a roadway until such movement can be made with reasonable safety and then only after the giving of an appropriate signal in the manner provided in this chapter in the event any other vehicle may be affected by the movement.”

If a tow truck driver makes a left turn in front of a motorcyclist they will typically be found at fault in the event of an accident. If the tow truck driver was working at the time of an accident the company that they work for may be liable as well. Generally speaking, companies are liable for the negligence of their employees – insofar as those employees were working within the course and scope of their job duties. Any person that is injured in a tow truck accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim.
