Liability In Car Accidents
Most head-on crashes happen when one driver crosses over a double yellow line. According to California Vehicle Code 21460, “If double parallel solid yellow lines are in place, a person driving a vehicle shall not drive to the left of the lines, except as permitted in this section. If double parallel solid white lines are in place, a person driving a vehicle shall not cross any part of those double solid white lines, except as permitted in this section or Section 21655.8.”
Head-on crashes account for only around 2% of all crashes. But they account for over 11% of all fatal car accidents. Victims of head-on crashes are likely to receive serious and costly injuries. A car accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know if you have a claim that can be pursued.
