According to the San Diego Union Tribune, a woman was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident in El Cajon on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.
The fatal pedestrian accident was reported around 5:15 p.m. near the intersection of Greenfield Drive and Victor Street, when the driver of a blue 2004 Chevrolet Suburban veered off the roadway and onto a sidewalk.
The pedestrian accident victim, who has not been identified, sustained critical injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died.
The driver of the SUV, identified as a 49-year-old El Cajon resident, remained at the scene of the pedestrian accident and cooperated with the police.
The cause of the pedestrian accident remains under investigation.
