Liability In Hit-And-Run Accidents
It is a felony to flee the scene of an accident that causes bodily injury. According to California Vehicle Code 20001, “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident and shall fulfill the requirements of Sections 20003 and 20004.” Victims of car accidents can suffer a wide variety of injuries including:
- Head and back injuries
- Neck and chest injuries
- Broken bones
- Internal trauma
Many of the injuries associated with car accidents may appear right away. For example, many car accident survivors develop PTSD. Victims may be entitled to financial damages for lost wages, car repairs, medical bills and pain and suffering. A car accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your options are. It doesn’t cost anything to hire an attorney and they only get paid if they are able to successfully resolve your case.
