One Person Killed In Nice Head-On Car Accident On Highway 20
NICE, CALIFORNIA (October 31, 2019) – One person was killed in a head-on car accident on Highway 20 not far from the Dollar General.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 3:15 p.m. For reasons that remain under investigation a semi-truck collided head-on with a Ford Cargo Van.
The semi continued traveling before ultimately coming to a stop. Paramedics were called to the scene in order to help the victim.
Despite life-saving efforts the driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing at this time.

Head-on collisions tend to happen when one driver inadvertently crosses over a double yellow line. According to California Vehicle Code 21460, “If double parallel solid yellow lines are in place, a person driving a vehicle shall not drive to the left of the lines, except as permitted in this section.” The family of any person that is killed due the negligence of a truck driver may have legal recourse through California Civil Code 377.60.
