Liability In Bus Crashes
Bus companies are considered common carriers under the law. Drivers are held to a very high standard when it comes to safety. According to Squaw Valley Ski Corporation v. Superior Court, “The elevated standard of care for common carriers is “based on a recognition that the privilege of serving the public as a common carrier necessarily entails great responsibility, requiring common carriers to exercise a high duty of care towards their customers.” Bus accidents can leave victims with a wide variety of injuries including:
- Head trauma
- Neck injuries
- Spinal cord Injuries
- Internal trauma
Any person that is injured in a bus accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. Determining liability in a bus accident can be very tricky. A number of collisions take place due to fatigue or driver inexperience with the roads. A bus accident attorney can examine the facts of your case and let you know what your options are. There are statute of limitations associated with being able to file a claim, so it’s important to act quickly.
