Multiple People Injured In Manteca Truck Accident On Highway 20 Near Airport Way
MANTECA, CALIFORNIA (October 30, 2019) – Multiple people were injured in a truck accident on Highway 20 not far from Airport Way.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 7:46 a.m. For reasons that remain under investigation a semi-truck rear ended a white Kia.
A second big rig became involved in the accident and overturned. At least one person was critically injured and had to be taken to the hospital.
Liability In Semi-Truck Accidents
Semi-truck drivers have a legal responsibility to operate their vehicles according to the prevailing conditions of the road. According to California Vehicle Code 22350, “No person shall drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, the traffic on, and the surface and width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed which endangers the safety of persons or property.” There is simply no reason that a semi-truck should ever rear-end another vehicle. This is typically very strong evidence that the driver was either speeding, distracted or fatigued. Any person that is injured in a truck accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim.
