According to KTLA, a man was killed after a motorcycle accident involving a truck on the 405 Freeway in Torrance on Sunday, February 4, 2018.
The fatal motorcycle accident occurred around 3 a.m. near Artesia Boulevard, when a 22-year-old driver of a Dodge truck was reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road and collided with a 2006 Harley Davidson.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 57-year-old Hawthorne resident, was thrown off of his motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, who has not been identified, was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated using the Jaws of Life. The truck driver sustained injuries and was transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. The truck driver was later arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The fatal motorcycle accident remains under investigation.
