Man killed in fiery car accident on 10 FWY in Pomona

According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, a man was killed in a car accident on the 10 Freeway in Pomona on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

The fatal car accident occurred around 3:10 a.m., when the driver, identified as 57-year-old Peter Van Ginkel, in a 1994 Toyota struck a median, causing his vehicle to become disabled near the carpool lane and another lane.

Another driver, 28-year-old male driver of a 2004 Mitsubishi, did not see the disabled vehicle in time and struck the Toyota, causing the vehicle to burst into flames.

As a result of the fiery car accident, the driver of the Toyota was not able to get out of the car in time.

It is unknown if the driver of the Mitsubishi was injured in the car accident.
